D Branch Accessibility Improvements Update | October – December 2024
Updated on October 3, 2024
We’re making accessibility improvements at four stations on the Green Line D Branch—Waban, Eliot, Chestnut Hill, and Beaconsfield.
Along with ongoing work at Newton Highlands, this project will make the D Branch the first accessible branch on the Green Line.
Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Construction Progress Update
Construction will start in Fall 2024 and will be complete by December 2024.
This will include:
- Raising station platforms for accessible boarding
- Upgrading station sidewalk entrances
